The Eiffel Tower in central Paris was evacuated on Saturday afternoon after a bomb threat. All visitors were forced to leave the tower’s three floors and the park area below shortly after 1:30 p.m.

Two hours later, the police bomb squad was able to blow away the danger and the tower reopened to the public, a police source told the French public-service radio station Radio France.

Last year, the Eiffel Tower attracted 6.2 million visitors.
