(Finance) – Renovate, redevelop and rebuild existing sports and cultural structures in Italy, improving their accessibility and environmental sustainability. This is the main goal of the financing of 100 million euros granted by European Investment Bank (EIB) atSports Credit Institute (ICS), the Italian public bank that promotes the country’s sustainable and inclusive development through financial support to the Sport and Culture sectors.
The resources made available by the EIB will be channeled through ICS to Local Authorities and public bodies in Italy. THE projects funds financed by EIB resources aim to support the renovation, requalification and reconstruction of existing sports and cultural facilities. With the aim of promoting urban regeneration, social inclusion and environmental sustainability, interventions are also envisaged that will contribute to eliminating architectural barriers and other accessibility measures in sports and cultural facilities; energy efficiency measures and the construction of cycle paths in order to promote sustainable mobility in the country.
It’s about the second operation between the EIB and ICSafter the 150 million euro one finalized in 2019 which helped support the renovation and redevelopment of public sports facilities promoted by local authorities in Italy.
