The Liberals broke the Tidö Agreement when they called the Sweden Democrats a brown slob. This is what member of parliament Oscar Sjöstedt told SVT at the end of last week.
Since the statement, the Liberals have apologized to the Sweden Democrats, according to Expressen.
– There are many liberals who think SD is an extreme populist party that has a brown streak in its history, says Linda Jerneck, lead writer at Expressen.
Arvid Hallén, writer at the conservative think tank Oikos, rather believes Pehrson’s criticism is a tactic.
– A tactical positioning before the Liberals’ upcoming annual meeting, where he will be elected chairman.
