Germany and Switzerland played to a 1-1 draw in the final round of Group A of the European Football Championship. Switzerland led the match until the final moments, but Germany leveled the game in extra time given by the referee, when the Substitute Niclas Füllkrug headed the ball into the goal.
Germany won the group, and Switzerland goes on as second in the group. Switzerland is the only European country to advance to the playoffs in the last six prestigious tournaments. Of the teams participating in the Games, only France has a chance to do the same.
In the second match of the group, Hungary beat Scotland 1-0 after nearly ten minutes of overtime. This is how Hungary gained three points and gets into the comparison of the best group threes.
The match was played in plenty of overtime because the Hungarian Barnabas Varga was badly injured in the game. He had to be carried off the field on a stretcher. After the match, the Hungarian Football Association said that Varga is conscious and has been taken to a hospital in Stuttgart.
