The duel of Juha Miedon and Thomas Wassberg became very fun. Wassberg gave almost clean papers for skis lubricated by EPN expert Ville Nousiainen.
LAHTI.
Juha! Juha! Juha! Thomas! Thomas! Thomas!
A few tens of Finnish fans of fans are loudly encouraging Juha Mild and Thomas Wassberg At the Salpausselkä Games, when the Finnish and Swedish ski legend takes each other.
The winning battle went to the first of which is the first stretching. Mild, 75, took it to his own peak.
– If I’m honest, my other shoe is a hint. It went slipping, but not here. If we had started to compete properly, the job would have gone. If I had been serious, Wassberg would have washed me, Mieto sculpted the 68-year-old Swedish.
Thomas Wassberg, which one won?
– We didn’t compete with it. We came quite level over the line, Wassberg describes.
Juha Mieton and Thomas Wassberg’s 1980 Olympic Gold Fight in Lake Placid in the 15km race is one of the most well -known moments in Finnish sports history. Wassberg defeated a mild one per second.
This was not the first time that Mild and Wassberg competed after his career. Wassberg calculated that he had competed for four to five times. Mild added that these were fun.
– I wanted to come here because I haven’t been in Lahti for a long time. It’s also fun to always meet Juha, Wassberg explained after the race.
Wassberg skis?
Thomas Wassberg’s skis had been lubricated by Sports Ski Specialist Ville Nousiainen.
– It’s terribly excited. There was a surprise invitation from the neighboring crime. Wassberg had borrowed skis and needed a lubricant, Nousiainen revealed in advance.
Mild is known as a friend of Mämmi. Nousiainen joked that he was wondering if he was rubbing the mummies on Wassberg’s skis.
– I try to lubricate well enough to move forward. It would be embarrassing if he crashed, Nousiainen chuckled.
After the race, Wassberg said that the ski was nice and well.
“I didn’t have a very good grip, but it was not needed on this track,” Wassberg said.
Juha Mieto Wild in the scenes
The differences between the nature of Sweden and Finnish ski legends shone after the race. Wassberg took it in peace and briefly answered the questions. Mildly as a well -known showman, the journalists responded long and stories.
Even before the race, the Finn had stolen the show from the Swedish. Mieto said, among other things, that he had dreamed that there would be solar eclipse during the race. Mieto also told the same story in EPN’s TV interview before the race.
The mild was in a refreshment after his own pull. He first cried to the Olympic winner of Viaplay’s live broadcast and the former ski star Sami Jauhojärvi after.
When he saw Iivo Niskanen moving to the departure area of the Lahti Ski Stadium, Mieto became enthusiastic about shouting in Finland’s current number one ski star. Mildly encouraged Iivo Niska, who moved to the departure area, loudly.
– I bet Iivo wins, Mieto threw.
The Swedish legend said it still follows a lot of skiing. Wassberg was annoyed that Niskanen became ill before the World Cup and could not compete in Trondheim. However, there was an incredible ski history. Norwegian John Hösflot Kllabo won all six trips to the race. No one had been able to do the same before.
– He’s incredible. I don’t understand how someone can be so overwhelming, Wassberg wondered.
