Micke “Syd” Andersson, who has been playing in Golden Times for many years, is a new drummer in Noice.
It is one of today’s April jokes, which even the news agency TT went on.
– Then it is a sign that it is a very good April joke, he says in after five.
After Robert Klasen decided to leave Noice and invest in life as a “hockey father”, he is replaced by Micke “Syd” Andersson from Golden Times. “Getting to play drums in Noice is a dream that comes true, it feels completely unreal,” he wrote in a press release. But the news was an April joke.
– It started with Peo Thyrén called me yesterday and saying that “We have a sketch on a fun April joke. Can I send a press release to you?” Then I read it and thought it could be great fun or it falls flat, says Micke “Syd” Andersson.
TT went on the “news”
They decided to send out the fake press release on April 1st, and then Micke didn’t think about it anymore. Until the phone started ringing on Tuesday morning.
– It started calling half past eight this morning, then it has been up all day.
The joke got a lot of spread and even the news agency TT went on the “press release”.
– What I have heard is that it did not really fall into good soil at TT, says Micke.
“Many went on it”
Golden Times and Noice are two of the 1980s largest bands in Sweden and in social media fans did not expect their reactions to the “news”. Between the fans there has long been a “feud” – if you like one band you can not like the other. But Micke denies that there has been some conflict between the bands.
– Many people went on it for real. And there were some on the Noice page who didn’t think this was a good news. But it is April 1st, and many people need to smile a little so this still felt like a news that made people pull on the smile bands.
