Already impatient to know their future opponents for CHAN 2025, the 18 teams entered will have to wait until January 15 in the evening. CAF will indeed carry out the draw for the CHAN in Kenya just two weeks before the opening (from February 1 to 28, 2025).
This eighth edition of the African Nations Championship, which was to be held in 2024, is co-organized by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania who will also host CAN 2029.
Before the draw, this CHAN is already marked by the absences of many big names from the continent. After Algeria and Egypt chose to skip the competition, Tunisia and Libya also decided to withdraw from the tournament despite their automatic qualification. Only Morocco, qualified without playing, will therefore represent the North Africa zone (UNAF). Senegal, defending championwill be there, just like the DRC, double winner, and the Central African novice.
The draw will take place at the Kenyatta International Convention Center in Nairobi, Kenya on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 8:00 p.m. local time (5:00 p.m. UT).
