The dramatic images from the riding competition – here the moose rushes in

In the middle of an ongoing dressage competition at Muskö, a moose galloped onto the course. In a video clip, panic breaks out in the audience.
– At first I was a little shocked and scared, says Ines Oskarsson, who was one of the contestants.

This weekend, the Arbottna horseshow took place at Muskö in Stockholm’s archipelago. But in the middle of the ongoing competition, chaos erupted when a moose rushed right through the manager.

“Now the elk is coming against all the horses”, the race director is heard exclaiming, and panic breaks out in the audience. “Damn, how scary,” someone is heard shouting.

One of the competing crews was 14-year-old Ines Oskarsson with the horse Mr Japp.

– At first I was a little shocked and scared, but after it had passed I was relieved and happy and both me and the judge had a good laugh, she says in the program Efter fem.

“One or two horses ran away”

Fortunately, both riders and horses remained relatively calm.

– My horse Jappen didn’t say very much. He looked a little strange and wanted to continue the program. But one or two horses ran away a little because they got a little scared, says Ines Oskarsson.

But the incident has not deterred her from continuing to compete.

– We enjoy competing and we plan to continue doing so. Mainly the field competition.
