The parachutist who got stuck at a high altitude in a mast in Blekinge is safe after a major rescue effort.
Rescue personnel climbed the mast and managed to secure the parachutist with their equipment and disconnected the parachute. Then the person could climb down himself. The jumper was stuck about 60 meters up the mast. Rescue services from three stations moved out and a helicopter was also on site, but it was considered too risky to carry out the rescue operation by helicopter.
According to information from the Maritime and Air Rescue Centre, the accident must have occurred in connection with so-called base jumping.
