The Division 2 makes a decision that is so badly received that even the most loyal YouTuber in Germany gives up

Dark clouds are brewing in The Division 2 as a recent decision is met with little reluctance. Even Charles, the most loyal German-speaking cover shooter YouTuber, lays down his arms.

The Division 2 announced this decision: Excitement about regular and new content coming to The Division 2 was dampened last week.

The developers reported on August 18 via Twitter and announced that the planned dates could not be met again and that there would be delays. So it said:

In our ongoing effort to improve your gaming experience, we have decided to increase the duration of each Season to four months. Season 2 will now start in October.

announced Tom Clancy’s The Division via Twitter

It was also confirmed that the next DLC will also “not be released this year”.

This is how the decision was justified: The creators of The Division 2 justified their decision by saying that extending the season length to four months will allow them to make technical improvements to the game while continuing to work on the anticipated seasonal content.

However, reactions to the developer’s message have been muted. Because The Division 2 now has a long history of delays in its planned updates and releases.

And now Charles, the most loyal YouTuber of the cover shooter in German-speaking countries, is fed up with the developer’s always the same approach of empty promises, excuses and postponements.

The timeline for Year 5 is thus shaken

That’s why the disappointment is so great: Many loyal players and fans of The Division 2 were hoping that after the big announcements about new content and modes, a fresh breeze would soon blow in the cover shooter.

And in June 2023 things actually looked really good because everything went according to plan.

  • Season 1 “Broken Wings” brought that “Descent” mode, free for all players, as well as a slightly modified manhunt.
  • But now, shortly before the start of Season 2 in August 2023, it seems that Ubisoft’s planning for The Division 2 is not working again.

The Division 2 has to move content again

“Four months delay is an insult to the fans”

What does the community say about this? The news was not well received and disappointed many. Even if you are used to this from The Division 2 by now.

Nevertheless, some had hoped for better times and welcomed the announcements of fresh content for year 5. Instead, it is now being stretched again and the game is being lengthened with “gap fillers”. And that’s what many players don’t want anymore.

The player TheWitchKing comments on the statement with disappointment:

A four month delay because you’re trying to “improve the gaming experience” is an insult to the community. Just tell the truth. I’ve been playing this game series since the Division 1 Beta, but it’s over for me now. […]

Others know the procedure only too well and emphasize how much Ubisoft is destroying the game itself.

  • Paulo Campos Chaves says: “The same excuse for all seasons, bad programming and organization. […] “
  • Interest and trust in the game decreases, especially among frequent players. Even the most loyal German-speaking Youtuber to The Division 2 Charles has a clear opinion and says: “Season postponed? I’m gone.”

“Next then 1 season will be 6 months or 1 year”

This is what Charles said about the announcement: The now former streamer for Division 2 Charles made it clear in his last video: For him, as a long-time player, The Division 2 is no longer attractive. He justifies this by saying that, in his opinion, there is simply not enough new content being delivered to keep the gameplay exciting.

[…] There will be nothing in this game before 2024 after the summer. Nothing at all. Nothing at all. […] The small DLC, which will come at some point, which will not be a complete DLC, but only a small one and the Incursion mode, which may be in October [2023] come on, that’s not enough. For me it’s done for now.

This is how Charles breaks up with Division 2

The Division 2 community has probably reached a point where many players no longer have any expectations of the cover shooter and are still disappointed by Ubisoft again and again.

Others, on the other hand, think The Division 2 continues to be a really good game, like JoshOnLinear : “As long as there are more Global Events before Season 2, I’m happy to wait until October. […]”

However, Charles’ withdrawal underscores growing player frustration and dissatisfaction. While the developers are defending their decisions, it remains to be seen whether The Division 2 will be able to buy enough time through this postponement to release Year 5 with all content as planned.

What is the further plan? It is planned to publish an updated roadmap. She is then scheduled to add more global events for the current season for September 2023 to make the time more bearable. A Public Test Server (PTS) for Year 5 Season 2 will also open in September 2023, to which players will then have access.

What do you think about the extension of the seasons and the postponement of the DLC in The Division 2? And what do you think of Charles’ decision? Please leave us your opinion in the comments.
