An exploit was discovered in the loot shooter The Division 2 that unfairly gave players experience points. Ubisoft does not understand the fun of the topic and pronounces harsh penalties. Players don’t like that.
What was that exploit?
How does Ubisoft deal with the exploit? Ubisoft is surprisingly tough on the exploit. It explains that people have “cheated unfair amounts of XP and SHD levels” by doing so. They take it very seriously to offer a fair gaming environment and have identified people who have systematically exploited the exploit:
In addition, the experience gained in this way will be reset, which affects every player who has been identified. Ubisoft wants to give everyone the same opportunities. In order to implement the EXP reduction, a server down and maintenance was done on the morning of July 6th.
How are the reactions? The reactions are negative on Twitter:
Apparently you can’t please people. In many games, using such exploits goes unheeded, which annoys people who didn’t take advantage of the glitch and then felt like the honest man is the stupid one. But if a developer takes action like Ubisoft, it’s not right either.
