The SC in cross-country skiing will most likely be run without the biggest Swedish stars. The competitions are placed in such a way that they clash with both the World Cup and JVM.
The stars do not appear
Johanna Hagström, Jonna Sundling and Maja Dahlqvist have all declined the competitions. And when Frida Karlsson caught a cold and chose to forgo the weekend’s World Cup competitions in Les Rousses, it was clear that the SM was also in danger, and the hope that she would participate felt largely lost.

And so it will be. Nor is Frida Karlsson present when the SM is decided in Skövde starting on January 31.

“Feels bored””
When the SC was planned, there were no World Cup competitions planned in the calendar, but now that it is clear that the Swedish stars will not be present, project manager Anders Löfvenborg admits that it feels sad.
– It feels boring, but you have to have respect for the fact that it will be like this with these World Cup competitions. It was unfortunate in a way that when we decided that the competitions would take place on these days, there were no World Cup competitions on the calendar.

During Tuesday, the Swedish Skiing Association presented which skiers plan to participate in the SM competitions. On that list are the following names: Calle Halfvarsson, Oskar Svensson, Anton Persson, Jens Burman, Leo Johansson, Anna Dyvik, Moa Ilar, Lisa Ingesson and Martha Rosenberg.
