The digital photo-signature system now used for the creation or renewal of driving license is very practical. But it conceals an unknown and devious trap.
Many administrative procedures have been modernized in recent years and can now be fully online. This is particularly the case with the delivery of the driving license, the request of which is now exclusively involved through the site of the National Agency for Secure Titles, the famous ANTS, recently renamed France Titles.
Following obtaining the precious sesame, or in the event of renewal to go to the new credit card format which replaces the old pink paper, the request for manufacturing and shipping of the driving license is therefore now made in a completely dematerialized manner. Even the identity photo, compulsory for any official identity document, perhaps transmitted in digital form.
This electronic photo, also called “digital photo-signature”, can be obtained in a cabin marked ” Authorized online services Ants », Or after a professional photographer, also approved by Ants. In one case as in the other, in addition to the printed version, an electronically signed digital copy is generated and stored on a secure server.
On the paper drawing of the shots then appears an alphanumeric code of 22 characters, which can be used as part of an official document request. Thus, when requesting a driver’s license on the French titles-quant site, it is not necessary to scan a paper photo, or to send it by mail to the agency. Just enter the code indicated on the draw to finalize the process.
But beware, as practical and fast as it is, this method has a big constraint: the code of digital photo-signature is only valid once! Although the code can be used up to six months after taking the photo, it can only be used for one online approach with France Titres, which also generates a lot of misunderstanding and dissatisfaction on the part of users.
Thus, as part of the passage of the driving license, it will be necessary to provide a first photo in ants format to pass the examination of the highway code, and a second for the manufacture of the permit itself. You will have to go to the checkout twice in order to obtain a single -use code for each of the shots, knowing that each certified photo Ants generally costs between 4 and 12 euros …
Worse still, in the event of rejection of the request by the administration, the code of the digital photo used will still be considered “consumed”! It is therefore impossible to use it again for a new request, even if the rejection of the first would absolutely not concern the photo.
To avoid this misadventure, carefully check your file before validating a request on the ANTS site, in order to avoid rejection due to erroneous information or missing supporting documents. And if despite these precautions your request was rejected, you will only have two solutions left: pay to obtain a new digital photo code … or cut one of the Imprinted shots and send it to France Titles by post, as in the good old days of paper.
