Former US president Donald Trump has been found guilty by a Manhattan grand jury following an investigation into the alleged ‘shame’ he paid to adult movie star Stormy Daniels, and Trump, who has revealed his re-candidacy for the White House, faces criminal charges among the US presidency by this time. He was the first ex-president to face it.
130 THOUSAND DOLLAR PAYMENT
Trump’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, announced that the New York Grand Jury voted to impeach Trump as part of the investigation into the $130,000 “silence” payment to adult movie star Stormy Daniels, who allegedly had sex outside of marriage.
The jury has been considering evidence of the roughly $130,000 payment made to Daniels over the months. The payment, made during the 2016 election campaign, allegedly aimed to “buy her silence” about Daniels’ relationship with Trump years ago.
It is not yet known exactly what the charges were, as the indictment was kept secret. According to a report on CNN yesterday, Trump faces more than 30 commercial fraud charges.

Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, started working as an actress in the adult film industry, and after 2004 she started writing screenplays and directing films.
Daniels, who was considering running for senator from Louisiana in 2010, later decided to withdraw on the grounds that his candidacy was not taken seriously.

In an interview with In Touch Weekly in 2011, Daniels explained that Trump invited him to dinner and met with Trump in his hotel room.
This full interview of Daniels wasn’t published until 2018.
“She was lying on the couch watching TV. She was wearing pajamas,” Daniels said in the interview.
Daniels claims the two were having an affair, while Trump’s lawyer “vehemently” denies that allegation.
If Daniels’ accounts are true, the alleged incident may have happened just four months after the birth of Trump’s youngest child, Barron.
“I HAVE BEEN THREATENED”
In an interview with a TV station in March 2018, Daniels stated that she was threatened to keep quiet about the relationship.
Shortly after accepting the In Touch Weekly interview, Daniels claimed that a man approached her in a Las Vegas parking lot and told her to “leave Trump alone.”

Trump, who said he was “completely innocent”, announced that he would not withdraw from the presidential race for 2024 and accused the Manhattan attorney general, democrat Alvin Bragg, of trying to reduce his chances of being elected against the current US president, Joe Biden, who is also a democrat.
“This is the greatest political persecution and election interference in history,” Trump said in a statement.
Trump, who is a candidate for the 2024 presidential election in the USA, announced on March 18 that he expected the arrest of the Manhattan District Attorney in connection with his investigation, and therefore called for protests.
While the White House has not made a statement on the matter, democrats state that Trump is not immune from the law.
