Today is the season finale and final of Sweden’s Master Chef 2024. This year’s finalists are none other than Josephine Freij and Tess Medina. The thrilling finale offers grand drama seasoned with personal three-course menus based on carefully selected ingredients.

Neither Josefine nor Tess thought they would end up in the final and Tess explains that it is difficult to be in the present, it is too big to understand.
The juror Tommy Myllymäki explains that Josefine’s greatest strength is that she can listen to her intuition and come up with something that is incredibly good. She is very tasteful, even in pressured situations. Tess has made an incredible journey, believes Tom Sjöstedt. She has been a very good cook from the start, but towards the end she has sharpened her form and shown why she is worthy of a final place.
– I have not been able to imagine standing in the final, it has felt far away but still very close the whole time. It’s like that you don’t dare think about it, because I don’t want to be disappointed, says Josefine.

The final menus – two worthy finalists
There are two worthy finalists that we see in tonight’s program, both with completely different qualities in cooking. The finalists’ three-course menus look like this:
Josefine’s three-course menu:
Appetizer: Crispy rice with tuna tartare, sour cream, roe and caviar
Main course: Veal fillet with radish, black radish, shiitake mushroom, smoked gem salad and sky
Dessert: Coconut panacotta with mango puree, flan, drink with Thai basil, lime and rum
Tess’ three-course menu:
Appetizer: Tuna with avocado cream, radish, ponzu dressing and caviar
Main course: Veal fillet with white wine-based sauce, butter-fried black radish, herb oil and roe
Dessert: Mango cream with mascarpone and coconut cream, wafers with white chocolate

After the finalists have had their three dishes judged by the jury, which consists of Mischa BillingTommy Myllymäki and Tom Sjöstedt, the result is that Tess is the final winner of this year’s edition, with the justification:
“Your enormous development and the journey you have made these weeks is something we have rarely seen. In terms of food, it feels like you are in the form of your life in the final and have delivered a consistent and high level in all three courses”.
