For the second year in a row stepped Pernilla Wahlgren up as an all-singing leader on the Solliden scene in the long-running “Allsång på Skansen” at the end of June.
The season certainly had its ups and downs. The program that was broadcast on August 6, and was guested by, among others Simon Superti and Miss Linamely broke a new record low when it comes to the linear viewing figures.

But it was a revenge for Pernilla Wahlgren when the end of the season started. Then there were 1,018,000 viewers who watched the program linearly and it was the third time that “Allsång på Skansen” reached the million mark for the season.

In the season finale, there was, as usual, beautiful singing from several artists. One of these was Miriam Bryantwho performed the new song “Rain Wet Shoes”.
When SVT shared a video clip from the performance, the artist received a lot of praise for his vocal performance, but there were also many viewers who criticized Bryant.
The reason? Well, she chewed gum when she sang and was interviewed by Pernilla Wahlgren – something that didn’t go down well with everyone.

Strong reactions among viewers
This is what some of those who reacted to the chewing gum wrote:
“She could skip the chewing gum when she talks to Pernilla. Even when she sings, the chewing gum is visible in her mouth.”
“Yes, I’ve noted that for a long time. Can’t believe she doesn’t realize the inappropriateness of chewing gum when performing! Even when she performed at Berwaldhallen, she was chewing gum! Too bad she doesn’t have better sense!”
“She almost always has the damn gum when she’s on TV.”
“But then how can you even sing with chewing gum in your mouth!”
“Do you think it looks unprofessional that you stand and smack chewing gum on TV as an artist, is there anything else you can do then!”

But some also come to Miriam Bryant’s defense and think that the reactions are exaggerated.
“What a piece of crap about a piece of gum!”, writes one person.
“God such bitter people you are, getting mad over a piece of gum. Come on,” writes another.
“Perhaps she has insufficient salivation? With a dry mouth it becomes difficult to sing,” writes a third.
