Today, the applications open to this autumn’s university and college education. Anyone who wants a job where competition is small can choose education in healthcare, school and care or professions in technology, IT and science, according to Saco’s new report.
This includes professions such as midwife, biomedicine, preschool teachers, geoveters, psychologist, socio -economist and teacher.
New jobs when Sweden is preparing
The uncertain outside world and Sweden’s accession to NATO are expected to create many new employment in the defense field.
The Armed Forces will need new soldiers and officers, but also specialists in technology, logistics and cyber security when Sweden renovates. At the same time, the defense industry is expected to need a lot of new staff in the coming years.
Another social challenge that creates the need for new jobs is the climate change. If the community electrifies transport, digitizes operations and switches to circular economy, many new specialists will be needed.
AI affects many professions
Developments in AI and digitalisation affect the vast majority of industries in the future, but in different ways. Some of the professions that are in the midst of development are civil engineers, lawyers, communicators and doctors.
In other professions, such as teachers or veterinarians, AI is expected to become something that can facilitate administration.
In the report, SACO affects that little competition is not always a good thing – it can also be a sign that there are problems in an industry, such as low pay, poor work environment and small development opportunities. If you see that very few choose to educate themselves as a shortage, it is a good idea to investigate what it is due to, Saco writes.
