At least 18 people have died and dozens of injuries are being reported from torn apart communities in the American Midwest and South, after a monster storm pulled through. Hundreds of thousands of households are still without power and authorities are working feverishly with rescue efforts. In the county of Sullivan County in the state of Indiana, three victims were claimed. The storm destroyed houses and several people are missing in the main town of Sullivan, emergency services chief Jim Pirtle announced on Sunday. The damage in the southern part of the city is extensive, local media reports. Tear down theater roof At least one person has died and several have been injured after a tornado tore down the roof during a hard rock concert in the state of Illinois on Friday night. 260 people had gathered when the roof of the theater in the town of Belvidere collapsed. At least one person has died and around 30 have been injured, according to the emergency services. Deaths, injured people, power outages and material damage after severe storms are also reported from several other states. Taking shelter in restrooms Parts of the Arkansas capital of Little Rock were torn apart by a tornado on Friday. At least one person was killed and around 30 were injured, some of them seriously, the authorities say. Major material damage has been reported from the city’s suburbs and television images show scores of roofs torn off. All flights at Clinton National Airport were canceled and passengers and staff were ordered to temporarily seek shelter in restrooms and other secure areas. In the town of Wynne in northeastern Arkansas, two more people have been reported dead. In at least 15 states, meteorologists have warned of storms in the coming days.
