The death toll in the migrant boat disaster off the coast of Greece rose to 80.
In the statement made by the Greek authorities, it was stated that the bodies of two more people were found in the area where the disaster took place and taken to Kalamata Port for autopsy.

In the news, which alleged that the Greek Search and Rescue Center was aware that the overloaded boat was shaking dangerously, it was stated that the questions should be answered about why the coast guard teams chose to remove the oil tanker instead of calling it to the scene for a possible rescue operation.
Aleksis Tsipras, the leader of the main opposition Radical Left Alliance (SYRIZA), visited Kalamata Port, where the immigrants who survived the disaster were taken, to get information about the incident, and said that the immigrants told him that the Greek coast guard teams were trying to push the boat into Italian waters.

On June 14, a fishing boat carrying irregular migrants capsized in international waters 47 nautical miles from Navarin, located in the Peloponnese Peninsula of Greece, 80 people lost their lives, 104 people were rescued and brought to Kalamata Port.
