According to the prosecutors of the nearby city of Naumburg, a 52-year-old woman has died in hospital from the injuries she received in the attack.
According to the latest figures from the German Interior Ministry, a total of 299 people were injured in the attack.
A Saudi Arabian who has lived in Germany for a long time Taleb al-Abdulmohsen drove into the crowd at Magdeburg’s Christmas market on December 20. Al-Abdulmohsen was arrested at the scene, but the motive of the suspected attacker remains unclear.
The Saudi man had previously been asked to be extradited to Saudi Arabia.
