The death toll from the weekend landslide in Ethiopia has risen to 257 people. According to the UN, the number may rise to up to 500 as the rescue and clearance work progresses.
On Sunday evening, heavy rain triggered the first landslide in the remote Gofa mountain area.
On Monday, another landslide buried those involved in the rescue operations.
