Millions of people have lost their homes and food shortages are acute, while the country fears outbreaks of waterborne diseases from the flood waters.
In the town of Johi in Sindh province, homes and farmland have been destroyed and roads are inaccessible. Residents who lost their homes are sleeping in makeshift tents and a health clinic has opened in an old wedding hall where people go for free treatment.
– We provide needles and drips because most patients who come here suffer from diarrhea, malaria, high fever and skin problems. In our outpatient department, five to six doctors treat 700-800 patients daily, says Roshan Ali Khan, who is a doctor.
