The popular backpacker resort of Vang Vieng in Laos is shaken by the death of six people. All are suspected to have died after drinking drinks laced with methanol.
Methanol is a toxic alcohol that is mainly used in industry and household products. It is also colorless which makes it difficult to detect in drinks.
According to the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an investigation has been launched and, according to information, several people have been arrested.
