The newspapers, which for over a hundred years have been on the kitchen tables of families around Norrbotten, are no longer expected to be profitable in four years, which threatens the publication of the paper newspaper.

Several informants perceived the news as meaning that the paper magazine is threatened within just a few years, but CEO Mats Enbom does not want to comment on the forecast.

Since 2007, Norrbottens-kuriren and NSD have been part of the same group, Norr media, which in turn is owned by Norrköping’s newspapers. For many years, newspaper circulation has had a downward trend, while the price of both paper and fuel has risen.
The forecast shown to employees was interpreted by many present as meaning that 2026 could be the end of paper newspapers.
That is the current forecast and it may change and no decision has been made when the paper newspapers will disappear.
