At first glance, the nostalgic Netflix series Stranger Things and the action spectacle of Deadpool & Wolverine don’t have much in common. Except that it is both in the broadest sense extremely successful genre adventures are.
One unexpected connection but has now been revealed through an excerpt from the script for the Marvel blockbuster.
Deadpool & Wolverine & Stranger Things: The Strange Connection
No, this whole thing has nothing to do with multiverses. The Netflix kids from Hawkins shouldn’t come hopping out of a dimensional gate with the Marvel guys to join in the superhero fray. But as revealed on the Marvel subreddit, the writers used Character names from Stranger Things in her script. Why? Well, to keep all the cameo surprises as secret as possible until the film starts.

In the excerpt there is a version of Wolverine called Hopper-ine (in reference to David Harbour’s series character Jim Hopper) and even Elf/Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) the speech, which, according to Reddit users, is apparently one Cipher for the superheroine Elektra acts.
Responsible for this joke are the screenwriters Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Zeb Wells, who worked on Deadpool & Wolverine, as well as director Shawn Levy and lead actor Ryan Reynolds, who also worked on the script.
