The DC film brings back favorite characters who seemed lost

It’s no longer a secret: The Flash is to DC what Spider-Man: No Way Home was to Marvel. What does that mean? A multiverse adventure pushes the boundaries of an existing franchise (in this case, the DC Extended Universe) to Characters from other film series to bring in.

Which DC characters made it into The Flash? We’ve rounded up all the big cameos and guest appearances in one comprehensive list. Before you read any further, be one explicit spoiler warning pronounced! The Flash draws on all of DC history and comes up with a few surprises.

From the main character alone we get three different versions to see. Ezra Miller not only embodies the Barry Allen from the DCEU, but also a younger version from another dimension. At the end of the film, there is also a third Barry who has fallen victim to the dark side of power: Dark Flash.

In addition, The Flash comes up with cheated cameos. Henry Cavill’s Superman only appears briefly from behind on a news program. Also, at the end of the big multiverse sequence is this laughter of a joker to hear. There was even a rumor that Linda Carter would have made a cameo as Wonder Woman, but we didn’t spot her in the finished film.

Speaking of which, as impressive as the cameo parade is at first glance, that Missing a few names quite surprising. A multiverse movie called The Flash would definitely have featured Grant Gustin, who portrayed the red flash from 2014-2023 in DC’s The Flash, and even met the Millers thanks to a 2020 crossover event version of the character behind it.

In addition, the return of Christian Bale as Batman from The Dark Knight trilogy would have offered itself. Brandon Routh could have brought back his Superman from Superman Returns and if we’re being honest Tom Welling, who played Clark Kent in Smallville from 2001 to 2011, would too perfect for the movie been. But maybe DC is keeping those options open for future projects.

The Flash has been running since June 15, 2023 in German cinemas. With Blue Beetle and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, two more DC films will conquer the big screen this year, before the big reboot follows with Superman: Legacy 2025.
