The daughter of one of Vladimir Putin’s chief ideologues, Aleksandr Dugin – who has been called “Putin’s brain”, was killed last night in a car explosion.

Daria Dugina was an editor on the website United World International and, like her father, was an outspoken supporter of the war in Ukraine.

The father, Aleksandr Dugin, was reportedly going to CNN actually drove in the same car as the daughter but changed vehicles at the last moment. Soon after, the car exploded.

Daria Dugina, was clear in her support for the Russian invasion of Ukraine. She was also put on the sanctions lists by both the United States and the United Kingdom, which accused her of spreading disinformation about the war online.

It is still unclear what is behind the explosion, but it is speculated that it may be an act aimed at Aleksandr Dugin.
