The exercise marks a shift for Bornholm’s home guard, says chief Ulrik Skytte. After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the data has grown beyond monitoring vital infrastructure.
— We see a threat picture where Russia is much more aggressive. We must be able to fight, we must be able to ambush, attack objects such as drones.
Swedish Home Guard soldiers also participate in the exercise. With a possible Swedish entry into NATO, the Bornholm Home Guard expects increased cooperation in the future.
