the Dane Mads Pedersen seizes the second stage of Paris-Nice

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Mads Pedersen (Trek-Segafredo) won in a bunch sprint on Monday March 6 in Fontainebleau during the second stage of Paris-Nice. The Dane takes power and will wear the leader’s yellow jersey on Tuesday during the 32.2 km team time trial in Dampierre-en-Burly. This is the second victory of the year for Pedersen, the 29th overall, and also his second in the Race to the Sun after a stage won in 2022. The former road world champion won ahead of Dutchman Olav Kooij (Jumbo-Visma) and his compatriot Magnus Cort (EF Education) after a disjointed last kilometer marked by a fall just before the red flame. Like the day before, Tadej Pogacar took six bonus seconds in the intermediate sprint.
