Israel killed a general of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Razi Moussavi with an airstrike in Syria. Moussavi was an adviser to the Syrian Revolutionary Guard. After the attack, Iran said it would avenge the general’s death.

On April 1, 2024, Israel carried out an airstrike on the Iranian embassy in the capital of Syria, Damascus.

The commander of Iran’s air and ground forces was killed in a missile strike Mohammed Reza Zahedi and six other members of the Revolutionary Guard. After the attack, Iran vowed to take revenge on Israel. Western countries began to suspect that Iran might attack Israel directly.

On April 13, 2024, Iran carried out a massive airstrike on Israel.

On July 31, 2024, Israel assassinated the leader of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran, the capital of Iran.

Haniyeh was the political leader of the extremist organization Hamas. Experts estimate that the assassination increases the risk of the conflict in the Middle East expanding, also because the assassination was carried out on Iranian soil. Iran and Hamas blame Israel for the attack.

September 2024 Israel stepped up airstrikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.

Israel increased its attacks on targets of the extremist organization Hezbollah in southern and eastern Lebanon and south of the capital Beirut.

On 17 September 2024, Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon was wounded in a pager attack.

In an extraordinary attack, the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad blew up paging devices supplied to members of Hezbollah. Twelve people died and nearly 3,000 were wounded. Ambassador of Iran Mojtaba Amini was one of the wounded. He lost one of his eyes in the pager explosion.

The next day, hundreds of Hezbollah radios were blown up.

On September 26, 2024, Iran warned Israel against attacking Lebanon.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned in connection with the UN General Assembly about the danger of a full-scale conflict in the Middle East if a cease-fire is not reached in the region. Araghchi said Iran will not remain idle if war breaks out in Lebanon.

27.9. Israel killed Hezbollah’s top leader Hassan Nasrallah.

17.10.2024 Israeli soldiers killed the leader of Hamas, Yahya Sinwar in Gaza

Early in the morning, the Israeli army killed three Hamas fighters, one of whom was confirmed later in the day as the leader of the organization to Yahya Sinwari. He only managed to lead the organization more than a month after the previous leader, Haniyeh, died in Tehran.
