The cutest French mistakes made by schoolchildren as highlighted by

In primary school, some French mistakes are careless errors and others are quite funny. Here are some “pearls” from schoolchildren.

In their profession, French teachers often spot “pearls” in their students’ papers. Funny mistakes or unintentionally funny formulations that make you smile. Most of them testify to the difficulty of mastering the subtleties of the French language, but also to the unintentional creativity of students. In this area, in primary school, it is common for teachers to underline in red mistakes that are at least surprising. On the social network Tiktok, a French teacher who is also an author, aka @bookoliquepublished a video on the subject. She compiled the most surprising mistakes she found in some of her students’ homework. And the least we can say is that some of them are doubling their inventiveness to transcribe a word they think of or that they heard during a dictation.

The first gem the teacher points out is, let’s admit, quite cute, even if it would probably offend a famous French engineer a bit. One of her students wrote the word “the turret” to refer to the work of Gustave Eiffel. The second is a “classic” mistake according to the author, it is directly linked to the conjugation: “I was in Spain”, instead of saying “I went to Spain”. The third error is quite complex to decipher. The student wanted to say “right on time”, Or “I arrive on time”, “on time” the teacher points out, a little amused, and for that, he wrote “pil wait”.

Also, seeing some pearls of French, one might wonder if schoolchildren were not inspired by the animal register when writing. One of them noted “to do” to say “to make me”, which brings to mind the famous “moo” of the cow. The last one, the most epic, which almost caused a “syncope” to the teacher according to her words: “on a nasty tuna” instead of “in an unpleasant tone”. A mistake that the teacher will probably remember for a long time… “I didn’t know a fish could be unpleasant,” she wrote in the caption of her post.
