– It is a big break for the team and for Swedish basketball, says Södertälje’s sporting director Ludwig Degernäs to The evening paper.
It was during training last Wednesday that the accident happened. The 35-year-old twisted his knee. After an MRI examination, it is now clear that the cruciate ligament is severed.
Eldebrink would have played European Championship qualifiers with Sweden in three weeks, but that will not be the case. According to Degernäs, however, the 35-year-old is determined to get back.
“It has been hectic the last few hours, I don’t feel like talking now,” Eldebrink wrote to SVT Sport on Thursday.
