The crowd favorite is returning to the SHL again – after first being snubbed

Supporter favorite Niklas Olausson, 37, is back in Luleå – again.

The veteran center has signed a contract until the end of the season.
“It feels fantastic to be able to pull on the Luleå Hockey jersey once again and have the chance to bring home a SM gold to Norrbotten again. Ice time and role matter less to me, but it’s all about us being one of the teams that can win this season,” he says according to a press release.

Niklas Olaussonfrom Småland’s Väckelsång, has spent ten seasons in Luleå and finished last season in Norrbottensklubben after a stay in Switzerland and Austria.

However, Olausson did not receive a new contract after joining last season. When Luleå suffered an injury last week David Lily the club turned to Olausson.

Before this season, he signed a short-term contract with Linköping, but chose the day before the SHL premiere to move home to Luleå where he has his family.
