Revisit the croque-monsieur with this deliciously regressive version!
It’s winter, it’s cold and the raclette season is in full swing to warm our hearts and our taste buds. Only, after a few “raclette sessions”, you are left with slices of cheese and cold meats. But you are tired of taking out the machine, buying the potatoes again and you say to yourself that it might be good to vary the pleasures a little… We present to you the 100% comforting, quick and economical alternative of ‘a recipe to make with the sacrosanct raclette cheese.
Nothing could be simpler than preparing croque-raclette which is a revisited version of the traditional croque-monsieur. It will not take you more than 10 minutes. Country bread, raclette cheese, butter, ham and pickles and that’s it! On TikTok, the recipe has millions of views. We explain how to do it step by step:
- Cut two large slices of country bread and coat the outsides with butter.
- On each interior side, place a little ground pepper then large slices of raclette cheese on top.
- Add a few chiffonades of cooked ham, then gherkins cut in half.
- Close the two slices like a sandwich.
- Place the croque-raclette in a previously buttered pan.
- Gently brown each side in the pan then remove the croque-raclette from the pan.
- Immediately add a slice of raclette on top of each side, which will start to melt on top of the croque, for maximum regression.
The croque-raclette is ideal for a winter snack break, to devour with your full teeth, hot and dripping. Serve it with a salad of lamb’s lettuce or coleslaw, just to bring a little freshness to this caloric treat.
