According to chief prosecutor Klas Lorefors, the man and woman can be released because there is no longer considered to be any risk that they could hinder the investigation work.
– We have come a long way in the investigation. A technical examination has been carried out and they have both been heard twice each, says Lorefors on Thursday evening.
The man and woman must be related to the child.
Found lifeless in residence
It was during Wednesday morning that an ambulance was called to a residence in the eastern part of Jönköping County due to the fact that the child was being treated with cardiopulmonary resuscitation by private individuals. The child, who is younger than two years, was taken to hospital, but his life could not be saved.
Klas Lorefors does not want to comment on the circumstances under which the children are supposed to have died, but he says that an autopsy will take place next week.
