It is a brand new building that the vice-president discovers, alongside several officials and Kanvali Diomandé, the president of the Ivorian Court of Auditors. For this jurist, this new headquarters is a symbol which materializes the path traveled by this institution of Ivory Coast. “ This seat alone embodies firm political will, institutional maturity and responsibility towards citizens. This is a source of pride for the Court of Auditors, which thus reaffirms its commitment to promoting financial accountability. », he notes.
Collaboration between Ivory Coast and France
The Audit Chamber was originally created in 1961 and was housed within the Supreme Court. Since 2018, it has been elevated to the rank of supreme institution for control of public finances, on the same model as the Court of Auditors in France. This is why the two institutions share their experience. Ivorian magistrates and clerks were able to be trained.
“ To produce objective, substantiated, quantified information, it is not only necessary to be digitized, but also to use artificial intelligence. And if our Ivorian friends want to ask us again for support, advice or training, we will do so with great pleasure. », assures Pierre Moscovici, the first president of the French Court of Auditors, present in Abidjan.
A report of the Court of Auditors had caused a lot of ink to flow at the start of the year. This document notably highlighted inconsistencies concerning the recovery of duties and taxes linked to the issuance of identity cards and passports.
