The Court of Appeal lowers the sentence for the bomber at Skiljebo in Västerås

In the Västmanland district court, the now 40-year-old man was sentenced to 2 years and 2 months in prison for a case of serious crime against the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods, minor weapons and drug crimes, drug crimes and document forgery.

The prosecutor, who believed that the sentence was too lenient, chose to take the case further to the Court of Appeal, which now reduces the sentence by eight months.

  • The man received a shorter sentence than normal in the district court, taking into account the injuries he sustained in connection with the explosion. The Court of Appeal makes a similar assessment but lowers the sentence further.

In the Court of Appeal’s judgment, it appears that the man’s state of health has further deteriorated since the district court judgment in December 2022.

    – I think the verdict is right. The Court of Appeal has listened more to the man and taken into account the injuries he has, says defense lawyer Marcus Rudstam.

According to Marcus Rudstam, the man has just over two months left to serve his sentence because he already served time when he was in custody.
