The court lowered Trumps bail to 175 million the

Without the decision of the appeals court, the authorities could have started to seize the assets of the future presidential candidate of the Republican Party.

In New York, the court decided on Monday to reduce For Donald Trump the guarantee amount determined in the fraud case and grants him ten days more payment time.

The news agencies AP and Reuters report on the matter, among others.

The assets of the former US president will not be confiscated if he pays the 175 million bail set now.

The court had previously required Trump to pay $454 million in guarantees. However, according to Trump’s lawyers, obtaining this amount was not possible.

The deadline for the original payment was today, but the claim lapsed with the decision of the Court of Appeal.

– I greatly respect the decision, Trump commented.

– We will comply with the decision and deliver either a guarantee, a corresponding deposit or the amount in cash, Trump assured.

If Trump pays the bail, the collection of the compensation amount ordered by the court will be suspended until the court has processed Trump’s appeal against the actual sentence.

They misled the banks

The court ruled last month that Trump, his son Donald Jr. and Eric and some other leaders of the Trump Organization had for decades misled banks to get cheaper loans.

Among other things, the convicts had increased the value of the company’s assets to the banks in order to get better insurance and financing conditions.

According to the judge, thanks to this fraud, Trump and his company had made $350 million more than would have been possible through honest means.

With interest, a total of 454 million dollars, or approximately 418 million euros, had to be compensated.

Trump and others found guilty have appealed the verdict.
