The stone on which the statue “The Little Mermaid” in Copenhagen sits has been painted in the colors of the Russian flag, Danish media reports. Pictures taken early Thursday morning show the stone painted in white, blue and red.
The police are not aware that any reports have been received about the matter, writes Ekstra Bladet.
Repeated vandalism
The statue has previously been vandalized several times. Among other things, its head has been sawn off twice.
Last March, someone scribbled a Z with an equal sign into a swastika. Z is the symbol used by those who support Russian President Vladimir Putin in the war against Ukraine.
