The County Administrative Board in Jämtland County rejects the mountain rescuers’ criticism of the Goose Huts

The County Administrative Board downplays the risks for mountain visitors when the cabin site Gåsen has now closed.

– There are rest shelters within four to eight kilometers, says Göran Gabling, head of unit at the County Administrative Board to SVT Nyheter Jämtland.

It was last week that Sweden’s Mountain Rescuers appealed the lease agreement between the Swedish Tourist Association and the County Administrative Board to the government. The mountain rescuers are worried about mountain safety.

But it is a sufficient infrastructure, says Göran Gabling at the County Administrative Board.

– If a mountain station disappears, you as a mountain visitor have to adapt accordingly.
