Britain’s longest reigning monarch, Queen II. After Elizabeth passed away at the age of 96 on September 8, a minute’s silence was held across the country at 20:00 local time yesterday, and the bells of the world-famous clock tower Big Ben were planned to ring at the beginning and end of the moment of silence. While thousands of people gathered around Big Ben, waiting for the bell, the bells of the clock tower did not ring.
“WE ARE INVESTIGATION URGENTLY”
“We are investigating this urgently, but we are confident that it will not affect the parade during the state funeral tomorrow (today),” a spokesperson for the UK Parliament said in a statement.
After the funeral, which will be held at Westminster Abbey Church this morning, Queen II. Elizabeth’s body was buried in St. George’s Chapel, and Big Ben’s bells will ring every minute during the transport.
