It lasted more than three years. Corona pandemic.
Friday’s announcement by the World Health Organization is symbolic and finally marks the end of the era when at least seven million people on Earth died from symptoms caused by the deadly virus, writes the AP news agency.
The correct figure may be even higher than this. Director of the WHO Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus estimated that there would be up to 20 million dead.
The coronavirus wreaked havoc not only on people, cities and communities, but also on the economy of societies and the world.

Although the threat classification of the virus has now been changed, the health organization reminds that thousands of people still die from the virus every week.
– COVID changed the world and us. And so it must be done. If we go back to how things were before the corona, we haven’t learned anything, Ghebreyesus said.
The WHO declared the coronavirus a global health emergency in early 2020. As recently as January 2021, more than a hundred thousand people a week died from the disease.
US President Joe Biden declared the end of the pandemic already last year.
Where did it all begin?
The coronavirus was first detected in Wuhan, China in 2019. However, it is still unclear where and when it started spreading from person to person. The issue later became political.
According to one theory, the virus would have spread to humans from an animal or animals. According to another theory, it would have escaped from a laboratory in Wuhan. The latter has been strongly denied by China.
