The 2025 World Expo, which will take place in Japan, will host an ultrasonic bathtub equipped with artificial intelligence. The idea is to wash and relax people using ultrasonic waves combined with dedicated AI.
This Science Co. creation, named “Mirai Ningen Sentakuki”, actually pays homage to a concept unveiled by Sanyo Electric in 1970 during a previous World Expo, also organized in Osaka. This new, modernized version uses ultrasound to deeply cleanse the skin, but will also add a dose of AI.
This bathtub, still at the prototype stage at present, will take the form of a futuristic cockpit, in which any willing person will partially immerse themselves in hot water. Washing and drying should take no more than fifteen minutes.
The role of ultrasonic waves, by generating microscopic bubbles, is to eliminate impurities and dead cells on the skin, without effort or soap, while massaging the person. Artificial intelligence intervenes to study the user’s needs in real time, based on their skin type and the areas to target for optimal cleaning. It will also be used to analyze the emotional state of the user using various sensors placed in the capsule. Soothing images will then be projected accordingly and essential oils diffused into the air to promote relaxation and well-being while the machine quietly washes him.
From April 13 to October 13, 2025, throughout the duration of the Universal Exhibition, a thousand visitors should be able to enjoy this experience at the pavilion dedicated to innovation and well-being. Science Co. then plans to launch a domestic model, in order to democratize this technology.
