Yaser Ferhan, the spokesman for the committee, shared the details of the process to be carried out at a press conference at the Ministry of Information in the capital Damascus.

Ferhan said that the committee consists of 5 judges, a colonel from the security units and a lawyer, said the following statements:

Ferhan noted that those involved in crime and violations will be referred to the relevant authorities to be tried and emphasized that the law will be superior in the new Syria and that individual rights will be protected.

Ferhan said that they would evaluate the evidence they have reached in the investigation in a transparent way and will forward the results they have obtained to the Presidency and the relevant judicial authorities and that the images shared on social media will be examined by expert teams and they will continue to work from the field.
Ferhan said that violations in the coastal region decreased compared to March 6-7 and said that if the investigation is needed, they can get support from abroad and they are ready for cooperation.
Expressing that they will make information about their work frequently, Ferhan said, “The committee began to work, but has not yet come together with eyewitnesses. We are preparing programs and plans. If they want, we will protect the witnesses.” he said.
The investigation committee is expected to complete its comprehensive report on the events within 30 days and submit it to the Syrian Presidency.
At least 11 security guards lost their lives in the attack of the overturned regime elements in the district of Latakia on 6 March.
After the attack, Syrian security forces launched a large -scale operation in the region.
Hundreds of people died in violent clashes, while many civilians died.
Syrian President Ahmed Şara wanted to protect the unity and solidarity of the country and warned the security forces about the security of civilians.
The Syrian government established an investigation committee to identify the possible violations of the security forces and to arrest those responsible.
Authorities announced that the operations of the security forces in the coastal area ended on March 10. (AA)
