England’s theme in the European football tournament has been minimum performance.

It beat Serbia by one goal and drew with Denmark, again scoring just one goal. For England, the group stage culminated in a goalless draw with Slovenia on Tuesday.

In Group E, all four teams are on three points, so the standings can change any way they like. Romania and Belgium are locked in the direct continuation places. The third – currently Slovakia – is also strong in the comparison of the best three. Ukraine starts the thriller-like climax from the fourth place in the group.
