Where should you go to meet the nicest French people? A survey attempted to answer the question, but it may not bring everyone into agreement…
Who are the nicest French people? The Bordeaux people? The people of Nantes? The people of Nice? The question is a matter for debate and its answer could make people unhappy… If no scientific study has yet really explored this explosive subject, the Internat Topito site has nevertheless taken part in the game. With an online survey based on numerous contributions, it established a ranking in March 2022.
The result: a top-15 “cities in France where the people are the nicest”, but also and above all a series of short sentences on each of the major cities in France of which only Topito has the secret. The people of Nantes, for example, would be appreciated “because they resist the Breton invader”, while the people of Bordeaux “know how to do it, in terms of wine and in terms of fountains”. In Lyon, we meet “nice” people because “we realize that they are not all like Jean-Michel Aulas”. In Toulouse, because they “are a bit rootsy. And what’s more, they speak strangely”… But who are the nicest on arrival? Here is the ranking:

- 12th: Grenoble
- 11th: Aix-en-Provence
- 10th: Brest
- 9th: Nice
- 8th: Montpellier
- 7th: Rennes

It is therefore the people of Lille who are, in this ranking, considered the nicest French people, because thanks to beer “everyone is really nice”, writes Topito. Paris comes last with Nîmes and Clermont. As for the Marseillais, they are not even listed in the top 15! You do not agree ? Well in that case, vote for the city in which you think the French are the nicest.
