Amersfoort is not the only city with a zero-emission zone in the city center. There are now a total of fourteen Dutch cities that have this.
Polluting vans and trucks of emission class 4, older than fifteen years, will be banned from the fourteen inner cities as of January 2025.
The transitional arrangement gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to apply for an exemption. This is possible for vans with emission class 6. These are allowed into the city center until January 1, 2028.
Commercial vehicles and trucks registered from January 1, 2025 must have a zero-emission drive and therefore be electric.
