The Citroen City electric bike arrives in France

Early June, Citroen joined the cohort builders automobiles (BMW, Peugeot, Porsche…) eager to invest the juicy electric bike market by announcing a model cut for the city. Initially reserved for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the Citroen City is now also available in France through the Boulanger brand which displays it at 990 euros.

On the menu, a style and rather basic services. Only the Citroën logo and brand stamped on the frame differentiate this electric bike from the plethora of entry-level models that it looks exactly like.

The Citroën City is designed from a frame in aluminum with low step-over available in blue or white. It is provided with a group six gears, pad brakes, a fixed fork, a “comfort” saddle, a kickstand, a luggage rack and mudguards. The propulsion part is ensured by a 250W electric motor housed in the rear hub and powered by a removable 360 Wh battery installed on the luggage rack which offers up to 45 km ofautonomy. It takes eight hours to recharge it. Nothing very remarkable then. Citroën indicates that it wants to develop a range of VAEs with an upcoming folding electric bike.
