Alice Teodorescu Måwe looks set to lead the Christian Democrats in the EU parliamentary elections in 2024. This after the former first name Sara Skyttedal was poked. Now she answers the question of whether she believes in God, and how she views the million salary the assignment comes with.
The Christian Democrats’ electoral list is not finalized but will be determined in February. Instead of Skyttedal, everything points to former opinion leader Alice Teodorescu Måwe leading the party in the EU elections on June 9. But despite the fact that she now represents a party that stands for democracy built on a Christian view of humanity and values, she herself does not believe in God.
– No, I do not. I have not been asked that question by any Christian Democrat, but only by journalists. I think it is a private matter above all.
Commenting on the rumor of becoming an M candidate
Until Teodorescu Måwe was presented as KD’s top name on January 19, she was a member of the Moderates and had previously been employed by the party to work with their program of ideas for the parliamentary elections in 2022. But according to Expressen’s information has she been in contact with the party to end up on their list for the EU elections in 2019 and 2024, something she is now commenting on Nyhetsmorgon.
– I have no recollection of doing it then (2019). However, it is true that I did it now before this election.
According to her herself, it is not true that she recently contacted the Moderates with the great interest described in the media.
– I wrote that I might be interested and wondered what the nomination process looked like. The whole thing has been magnified and I wonder why, she says.
Basic salary: SEK 1.3 million
If Alice Teodorescu Måwe is elected as an EU Member of Parliament, she will, according to the EU, earn SEK 114,000 a month. In addition, there is a supplement of SEK 56,000 per month for general supplements and a daily allowance of approximately SEK 4,000.
– It is a good compensation, but it is not the central thing. I want to take the EU debate to Sweden. There is a misunderstanding of how important the EU is for what becomes Swedish decisions, she says.
