According to the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, attacks in urban centers are to be feared. Brigadier General Célestin Simporé therefore calls for increased vigilance.

It therefore recommends an increase in the alert level, dissuasive patrols, systematic checks and searches of people and vehicles, as well as a strengthening of obstacle devices on the roads. He also calls for strict compliance with the measures enacted.

This alert comes a week after a series of terrorist attacks which targeted a military detachment, a mosque and a church. A few days ago, the Burkinabè armed forces neutralized several terrorists, including a senior member of the group supporting Islam and Muslims.

Hassane Idrissa Boly is presented as one of the main terrorist leaders operating in the Mouhoun loop, north-west region of Burkina Faso.
